End of Season

This is a tough blog to write. First has come out today to suspend all remaining events, and cancel both world championships. For First’s entire response please see https://www.firstinspires.org/covid-19. I agree 100% with First’s decision on this matter its important as a society that we take the actions needed to attempt to lessen the crisis. A good resource for this is https://www.flattenthecurve.com/.

The news broke around 1 pm local time, and as soon as I found out I began writing the announcement to the students. We were planning on letting them know tonight that there is a chance that our events would be cancelled. Its important to communicate clearly during times like this sooner rather than later.

We have a meeting tonight where we will talk about what our team focuses on during the next months. I’m extremely proud of our students. They all have put fourth amazing amount of effort, dedication, and hard work over this entire year. We as a team have learned so much and made great strides. We will continue to improve and learn during the next months.

Some season robot stats, won 100% of events we’ve attended(lol), 17 – 2 win loss record for 2020. Our robot had 19 opportunities for a climb and we managed to climb in all but three of them so 84% success rate on climbs! (All three failed climbs happened in finals match, fun stuff always happens in finals)
