• Day Forty One

Today was another day filled with Assembly. The elevator got a few holes added to the final stage in order to have a top brace. After the top stage gets put back on the robot, we need to route the chain and we should be able to test climbing, hopefully this happens on Saturday. The

Today was a day filled with assembly. For the first time this year the bottleneck isn’t waiting for CAD. Instead we are now slogging through assembly of three subsystems at once. The elevator, intake, and hopper are all being assembled. The elevator assembly is the most difficult part, there are spacers that align the sprockets

Well its week six, the past six weeks have gone insanely quick. The robot is starting to come together, tonight we plowed through several robotics and made a major push to get the robot done. In previous years I would be insanely stressed out right about now, its true that we have much left to

The elevator got a minor modification today, two small (.1″) slots were added to the bottom of the elevator’s second stag bracing. We had observed a small gap between the bearings and the stage zero’s wall. This slot took out the gap and any play, resulting in a super smoother elevator. Manufacturing made some the

Today we pushed forward to our goal of having the elevator, intake, and drive base assembled by end of Saturday. The shooter now lives on the kit bot, and had some gears swapped around to bring the fly wheel speed back up. We are waiting on a vex pro order that just got put in

Today we got the practice bot disassembled so we can add 16 holes to each side of the drive rail. These holes are for two systems, the elevator, and the intake. We have a big number of gussets, and support brackets that we need to cut on the CNC router. We are also ready to

The programming team worked on creating and fine tuning autonomous modes today. They worked on the main one, shooting three power cells then collecting potentially 5 power cells from out trench and returning to a spot to shoot. Another mode that we’d like to have is steal two of the opponents power cells and then

Well its done, week four is now done. We are really behind schedule. I’ve been worrying about the schedule and how we are going to get things done for about two weeks now, the students are starting to worry. We have one drive base done, another in pieces, the elevator has approximately 60% of the

The field is very close to completion, only need to add plywood to the frame perimeter. We got the correct tape markings put down. We had just enough room to lay our the full trench on the field, so we are able to practice a “full” auto run on one side of the field. The
